Bombay Bicycle Club So Long, See You Tomorrow
Director: James Henry
For this stunning film to promote Bombay Bicycle Club’s ‘So Long, See You Tomorrow’ album, James created this visually captivating homage to design and the joy of vinyl. The entire effect was created in-camera with a series of different discs, each hand-made with 33 frames of animation based on a mix of the band’s live visuals and artwork. The beautiful trick at the heart of creating the animation illusion; they all had to be spun at the correct RPM and shot with the right shutter angle. A lovely bit of innovative magic that looks epic, this was nominated for a UKMVA and D&AD featured it in their yearly ‘I wish I’d done that’ blog.
